My Review

I am so mad at myself for not jumping on the Crowns of Nyaxia bandwagon sooner. I loved every second of this novel. The characters, the world, the tournament, the romance. It was everything I wanted and more.

Oraya, was extremely likeable as the main character. Defensive, snarky and sarcastic, it was easy to connect with her and understand both her hatred for Vampires and her love for her adoptive father. she was a fighter from the start and that fight didn't dim through the whole book.

Raihn. Raihn my goodness. Sexy and deadly, yet gentle and honest, with a loveable sense of humor. His personality will draw you in and keep you turning the pages! Vincent and Mische were awesome side characters that added a lot to the story and I loved the scenes with them in it.

This was my first Carissa Broadbent novel and I can honestly say I will now read every book she has every written. Her writing style was easy to follow without being too simple, it flowed very well and the story kept me intrigued the whole way through. The world building wasn't overcomplicated, maybe a little underdone visually, but not to the point where I couldn't imagine/picture what it looked like.

The romance between our love interests felt very organic, and the characters had really good chemistry from the get-go. And. That first steamy scene?! Dang. I may have read it three times over. I love when a man falls first and falls hard.❤️

This has been my favorite read so far this year. It reeled me in to the point where I couldn't put it down. If you enjoyed books like A Court of Thorns and Roses, Anathema and One Dark Window, you will love The Serpent and the Wings of Night!
